Work Sets You Free T-Shirt – Deadline Designs

19 12 2009

I found a strange inspiration in this design as I read the news that thieves stole the Nazis’ infamous sign declaring “Arbeit Macht Frei” – German for “Work Sets You Free” – on Friday December 18 from the entrance of the former Auschwitz death camp.

The slogan “Arbeit Macht Frei” appeared at the entrances of other Nazi camps, including Dachau and Sachsenhausen. The long curving sign at Auschwitz is considered the best known and it is the basis of my design.

New Batman Movie Study – Deadline Designs

23 11 2008

I don’t have to convince you that my favorite superhero is Batman. For personal reasons and my job relationship with the City of Los Angeles, I feel inclined to this character because I’m a volunteer firefighter and I dress in black, sometimes, in dark blue, when emergencies arise. Therefore, I’m one of these Dark Knights who saves lives and property very often.

This study is my reminder that I’m in public service helping my community in the City of Los Angeles and Hollywood. A city very similar to Gotham City in many aspects. Otherwise, I live therefore I am.

And one more comment, if you live in California, please prepare for the Big One Earthquake. I don’t have to tell that your survival ability depends on how well prepared you and your family are.

Design By Humans – Deadline Designs

15 11 2008

Today, I just joined Design By Humans to experiment with Jumbo Prints and other techniques. It seems like a  lot of creative fun and a good opportunity to be rated by other artists. As per DBH Terms of Service, my new designs at DBH will not be included in other POD internet stores.

My new profile at DBH is Fraktur and you can join DBH and leave comments. Thanks.

Obama Power – Deadline Designs

5 11 2008

‘Change has come to America’ in the words of the new American President Obama and he is a winner with a historic position in the White House.

I usually don’t do political tees but I consider my design part of the celebration of America and in the words of Timothy Leary’s Manifest, ‘We have to mutate.’

The design is based on the musical Hair, a tribal peacenik celebration, which comes also at the beginning with the prophetic song of Aquarius and if you don’t believe in astronomy (or astrology), check the position of the stars. Aquarius’ lyrics comes as very pertinent song saying,

When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars

This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius
The Age of Aquarius
Aquarius! Aquarius!

And that’s what precisely has happened to America. We have entered in the Age of Aquarius. You can read the rest of the song in websites that include the Aquarius song.

My design is available in this section in items of different background colors. No more falsehoods or derisions for the people of America. Somewhere Inside America, something there is a rush of Greatness. May God bless you, Mr. President.

Einstein Returns – Deadline Designs

2 11 2008

This is a post from my other blog, Big Bang Tees, but I thought it deserves to be included here because the photodesign is very cool.

There are many funny renditions of the new Joker that appears in the new movie of Batman entitled The Dark Knight. Mr. Ledger made a superb job hard to improve and it will remembered as a classic role forever in Hollywood. However, I was searching for the authentic Joker in real life and I found the answer from my science books. The answer was Albert Einstein, a scientific superhero with a great sense of humor, who also made a classic photograph with his tongue out.

My photodesign was colorized with still the best system available, Kodak Precision Color Transformers Management System. Interesting, Adobe Photoshop never included this color profile system with support for Pantone after modifying Aldus Photostyler. If you’re interested in ordering the tee, go to this design section and order the item in different background colors. Enjoy Einsteinmania!

Might For Right – Deadline Designs

1 11 2008

This is one of my designs in the collection that is hard to improve because of the simplicty of duotone colors and symbolic icons. The title suggests a future Camelot with the phrase of King Arthur, ‘It is not might is right but might for right’, a great expression for the power of the right nation on Earth. The soldier icon holds a hammer meaning the construction of freedom and independence while he puts his weapon down as a symbol of peace. The sunburst behind him gives a sense of renaissance to that great nation which has realized that creativity (say, art) is the key to progress in the people and not the spending of money and senseless deaths in obsolete wars. The stars might indicate the destiny of the nation to become unique in our Universe.

If you’re interested in purchasing this design, go to this particular section and select the item with choice of colors. Thanks for visiting my blog. Sayonara!

The Little Prince – Deadline Designs

27 10 2008

This is my original illustration design of The Little Prince, rendered in high vector resolution and vibrant Pantone colors for better printing of my tee. The story was written by the French pilot Antoine of Saint-Exupery and it has been my child Bible since I was a kid as a gift from my beloved mother. In the phillosophy of the book, I have learned that the essential in this world is invisible to the eyes and you need to have a determined passion to love your life as a unique rose in the garden of Life. It is the only important rose that God gives you and you need to nourish your flower for as long as you live. And one day you will travel to that mysterious little planet in the stars where you came from and be with your rose forever.

The design is available in these sections for men and boys or women and girls in different items and background colors. It makes a great important gift for anyone, for grown-ups and the young. Enjoy this beautiful treasure design,

Mea Culpa – Deadline Designs

25 10 2008

This is a design like no other in my collection because it is rather gothic and dark. It is inspired on the Spanish culture, in a day called The Day of the Nazarene, in which the participants of the ceremony slash their naked backs for several hours and walk on their bleeding knees to fulfill the promises given to the Nazarene Christ. I think the ritual was originated during the Inquisition when Torquemada ruled. The Latin phrase ‘Mea Culpa’ means ‘I’m guilty’ and it was popularized in a song by the group Enigma, one of my favorite musical groups.

The design will be submitted to Threadless site as soon as I figure out the neat effects they have. For now, to order the design item, go to this section. I assure you it is an attention-grabber design if you dare to wear. Thanks.

My Hottest Themes – Deadline Designs

22 10 2008

I guess every hot design has an audience and I’ve noticed in the last two weeks how a theme attracts attention in the public.

So, here’s the list of the hottest design topics in my blog and what people are getting in my tee store.

Iron Man Logo
The Big Bang Theory Show
My Alice in Wonderland Drawing Collection

Thanks for the wonderful reception to my work. It inspires me to work harder.

Dayum! Language – Deadline Designs

21 10 2008

One of the things I’ve noticed in my 8-yr old kid is that his language is evolving as a combination of interjections from different cultures at school and perhaps, on the streets of Los Angeles. I made this design tee with a Japanese game icon for his birthday to reward him for not expressing himself with insults or obscene words in stressing situations.

Here’s the design and I’m sure your kids will understand the language. He told me that his friends speak the same buddy language. And here’s some explanations on how to use the word Dayum! from the Urban Dictionary. Interesting! Go to that design section and select the background color of your preference. Z’ya dud!

The Big Bang Theory Show – Deadline Designs

20 10 2008

I’m delighted to see that Sheldon Cooper wears POD (print-on-demand) shirts bought from Internet stores in the episodes of The Big Bang Theory Show, created by CBS in 2007. Some episodes are quite amusing when you watch The Big Bang Theory Show. It is an American situation comedy dealing with 20-something high IQ guys (read, geeks in popular street jargon) and a theoretical experimental physicist at Caltech, who live across the hall from a blonde waitress with showbusiness aspirations.

My design is aimed to those fantastic geeks (like myself, yes I have a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from UCLA with an academic thesis in Russian Tokamak Nuclear Reactors and Steady-State Models). Sort of primitive European CERN Large Hadron Collider. And, of course, Professor Stephen Hawking is one of my real heroes. We live fantastic times in physics research trying to find that God Particle called the Higgs Boson, the most elusive speck of matter in the Universe. If you’re interested in my design, go to that section and choose the background color of your preference. Hey, may be Sheldon Cooper will wear my tee in one of the new episodes with my design message, ‘I Know The Mind Of God’.

Beowulf and The Dragon – Deadline Designs

19 10 2008

Another way of looking at my professional Neobauhaus design store is to search in the general market database of Printfection. You can type deadline in the search and the search will compile the most recent designs I have made. For example, in the design Beowulf and The Dragon, the design will appear printed in 26 products and 206 color combinations. Amazing!

Give it a try. Go to that link. It is a good way to look at my design portfolio with samples of related vector designs you might like. Thanks.
